About the Predator 55

Thirty Years of Predator, Distilled.

Launched in 2024 to mark the 30th anniversary of Sunseeker's most famous range, the Predator 55 is the most compact model in the current Predator lineup — and, according to the yard, the purest expression of what the range has always been about. Built in Poole and sharing its hull platform with the Superhawk 55, the Predator 55 trades the Superhawk's open walkaround deck for a fully enclosed hardtop saloon, a tender garage in place of crew quarters, and a noticeably more finished, liveaboard-ready interior.

At 56'3" overall with a 16'2" beam, she is unmistakably a Predator: a black gelcoat hull, sweeping glazing, and an aggressive, low-slung profile that has defined the range since the original launched in 2005. The signature feature is a fully transparent hardtop crowned by a 2.5m x 3m retractable glass and carbon fibre sunroof, sliding aft at the touch of a button to open the helm and saloon to the sky. Twin Volvo Penta IPS-950 pod drives — a first for this class of Predator — bring joystick maneuvering, a quieter ride, and easier engine room access aft, with a top speed around 36 knots and cruising comfortably in the mid-20s.

Below deck, the full-beam owner's suite sits amidships with a full-height wardrobe, an extensive en-suite, and a centrally positioned double bed with sofa seating. The forward VIP cabin uses scissor-action berths that convert between twin and double configurations, with its own en-suite and generous stowage. The mid-deck area is flexible by design: it can house the main galley, a lower saloon with sofa and table, or an optional third twin cabin with en-suite — pushing capacity to six guests. Both cabins were built with an emphasis on headroom and interior volume, aimed squarely at owners who want to spend real time aboard rather than just day-tripping.

Key Features
🌅
Sliding Carbon Fibre Sunroof — Open or Enclosed at a Touch
The signature Predator sunroof opens the main deck to the sky at a single button press, flooding the helm and saloon with light and fresh air. Full panoramic glazing on both sides ensures the interior never feels enclosed even when the roof is shut — a genuinely distinctive feature of the range.
Twin Volvo Penta IPS-1350 — 35 Knots, 750 NM Range
Standard IPS-1200 (2×900PS) or the preferred IPS-1350 (2×1,000PS) paired with Volvo's D13 engine give a claimed 35-knot top speed with joystick control, electric-hydraulic steering and effortless twin-pod manoeuvring. Crucially, the 924 US-gallon fuel capacity delivers an extraordinary 750 nm range at 10 knots.
🏠
Full-Beam Master — Double-Insulated from the Engine Room
The full-beam master stateroom amidships sits between an optional owner's office forward and the crew cabin aft — double-insulated from engine noise and vibration on both sides. A king bed, hanging lockers, en-suite, and optional vanity/desk or loveseat create exceptional liveability for a performance hull of this length.
🏖️
Optional Beach Club — Fully Flush, Rain Shower, Speakers
When specified as a Beach Club, the tender garage opens to a fully flush teak deck with rain shower, integrated lighting, and speakers built into the opened door — one of the most refined beach club implementations on any yacht under 70 feet. The diagonal-sliding bathing platform allows tender deployment without interrupting the deck space.
🛥️
Williams 345 SportJet Garage — Diagonal Hydraulic Platform
The extra-wide tender garage carries a Williams SportJet 345 as standard, with additional room for SeaBobs, inflatable paddleboards, and dive equipment. The new diagonal sliding hydraulic bathing platform is a Sunseeker exclusive — it deploys the tender with mechanical precision while keeping the aft deck wide and flat.
🎛️
Carbon Composite Structure — Weight, Stiffness, Speed
Significant use of carbon fibre composite throughout the superstructure — including the sunroof frame, hard top, and structural elements — reduces overall displacement versus an equivalent GRP build and contributes meaningfully to the 35-knot performance target. The result is a hull that punches hard in acceleration and remains planted at speed in chop.
Layout Options

Configure to Your Mission

On deck, the cockpit links to the saloon in one clean, uninterrupted line. Aft seating repositions to meet fixed amidships seating and a table that both extends and adjusts height, with a sunpad over the tender garage featuring adjustable headrest bolsters. Under that sunpad sits a garage sized for a Williams TurboJet 325, launched via a transom door and hydraulic bathing platform. This is the first all-new interior collection developed in collaboration with Design Unlimited, and the layout can be substantially reconfigured to an owner's exact requirements — a level of specification flexibility unusual in this size of production yacht.
